Critical Medical and Surgical PTFE Application's

Fluoropolymer Solution's for the Medical Industry

Miller-Stephenson Medical provides unmatched PTFE coating solutions that are designed to provide ultimate adhesion to sensitive alloy substrates.  These formulations generate uniform, thin films (5-10 microns) which exceed all ISO and ASTM requirements and typical applications for these coatings tend to develop for medical customers looking to greatly reduce friction within tortuous veins and vessels of the body while maintaining strength, durability, and reliability. No other coatings on the market can match the adhesion characteristics and durability of our technology.

Coating Equipment & Application Recommendations

All of our PTFE coatings can be applied via spray, dip or spool-to-spool methods. Proper pre-coating wire cleaning treatment and post-application curing equipment is critical to guarantee performance and durability. Acceptable curing equipment includes high-temperature ovens which can safely maintain temperatures of 246 °C  (475 °F) or utilize IR ovens. This will ensure proper sintering of the coatings onto the wire and promote the best surface characteristics that can be achieved.
